We're very busy at the moment trying to find photos and information for a lady whose grandfather played in the band in the 1950s...exciting and very interesting!

Well done on your 3rd place at Llandudno on Saturday. I was listenning while waiting for my section to start and you sounded very good, what a great band sound. I was also very impressed with the amount of youngsters in your band, the young girl on top cornet played such lovely solo's. Well done and keep up that wonderful sound.

Its great to see the banding enjoying itself at the social events both at the bandroom and away from it!! The atmosphere is truly remarkable with a good mixture of young players and old alike. It goes to show that all the hard work is beginning to pay off and now have committed and enthusiastic players!

It's lovely to receive emails from friends old and new wishing to purchase the band's book. The book documents the history (and survival) of the band through world wars, mining disasters and a bandroom fire and celebrates the success of the band including performing for members of the royal family (twice!) and performing at the Royal Albert Hall. The book is £5 to purchase...a great buy for Christmas! Email skelmersdaleprizeband@hotmail.co.uk to purchase a copy
