Presentation night
We all enjoyed our presentation/social night on 17th November 2017, with a hot pot supper and raffle. "The Players Player of the Year" prize was awarded to Sara Miller, with Gordon Hatton taking "The Most Entertaining Player" award.
The conductor's Prize of "Most Improved Player" went to Laura Crosland with Andy Maguire taking the "MD's Player of the Year" award. Congratulations to all the prize winners.
A great big thank you to all who made the evening a success.

Botanic Gardens
Many thanks to Kath and Julie for taking the collection at the Botanic gardens a portion of which will be donated to the Manchester emergency appeal.

Band AGM
The Band AGM was held on Thursday 25th May, where Dave Lyon stood down as Chairman after many years. A big thank you to Dave for all his work for the band. Dave continues as a player in the band.

Buttermere walk
Members of the band had a walk round Buttermere in the lake district. A great time was had by all. An intrepid few managed a climb to the top of Haystacks!!
Peter Gore
After many years of service to the band Peter has decided to retire from banding. We wish him all the best in his retirement.

The band would like to welcome Bradley Wilson and Mark Watkinson who recently joined our cornet section. They played in their first contest with the band at Preston Charter Theatre where the band achieved a creditable fourth place. We would also like to welcome Anthony Bearon on trombone.
Dave Chapman
The band would like to take the opportunity to send their thanks and regards to departing MD Dave Chapman, who is leaving the band to take an exciting new step on his career path with a new job in London. We wish Dave all the best for the future.
